How do I see how much was said in a KakaoTalk chat?

What does the report show?

Messages and characters per person, each person’s share and rank, activity by hour, weekday and month, average reply time, and the words used most.

A message written over several lines counts once.
Photos and stickers are left out of the character count.
Reply gaps longer than six hours are left out of the average.

Scrolling a chat tells you roughly who sent more, but nothing about who spoke first. This tool counts, for each person, how often they broke a long silence.

Do Android, iPhone and PC exports all work?

Yes. It recognises the export format for each device and language on its own and names the format it read on the result. If no format fits, you get a notice instead of wrong numbers.

How to get a KakaoTalk chat file

Open the chat room you want to analyse in KakaoTalk.
Tap ≡ (menu) at the top right.
In Settings (the gear), tap Chat history, then Export chat history.
Choose Send text messages only and save it as a file.
Add the saved .txt file on this page.

Can my conversation leak?
