How do I crop an image?

Drop images here or pick them with Choose files. Several at once is fine.
Drag the box to move it, and drag a corner to resize it.
For a fixed ratio, press a ratio button.
For exact pixels, type the width, height and offsets.
Save each image from the result list, or save them all at once.

Which ratio should I crop to?

Take the ratio the destination asks for. If you do not know it, leave it on Free and just enclose what you want to keep.

Free: No ratio lock. Drag each corner on its own.
1:1: For profile pictures and square posts.
4:3: A landscape ratio for ordinary photos and documents.
3:4: For tall portrait shots.
16:9: For presentation slides and video thumbnails.
9:16: For full-screen phone images and vertical video covers.

How do I set the crop on a phone?

Drag inside the box with a finger to move it, and drag a corner handle to resize it. For fine adjustments, type the numbers instead.

The saved file matches the box on screen. The width and height shown are the width and height of the file, and the cropped picture is exactly the region the box marked.

Can I crop several images to the same region at once?

Yes. The region is kept as a proportion, so each photo gets the same relative area even at a different size. Each image’s actual pixels are listed in the result.
